Choosing the Right Hardwood Flooring to Install
Florida is surrounded by water, whether it be lakes, canals, or the ocean. This results in a lot of moisture being present not only in the air, but also beneath the ground. Due to this, checking the subfloor’s moisture level is essential before starting any flooring project in South Florida.
We always perform concrete relative humidity testing prior to any installation to determine whether a moisture vapor barrier is required—particularly for glued-down flooring. Should we detect high moisture levels in the concrete, we recommend the most suitable material to use.
Our 5 Step Installation Process
- Concrete slab evaluation
- Relative humidity (RH) testing
- Moisture mitigation (if needed)
- Vapor barrier application
- Installing the new wooden floor
Our recommended suppliers are Parkay Floors, Southland Floors and Master Building Products.
Choose prefinished flooring for a faster installation or unfinished for a full custom finish.
You’re welcome to go ahead and make the purchase yourself, or if you would like some assistance, we’re available to help you choose the right materials for the project
